Welcome to the Judeo-Christian Outreach Center

Beginning in 1986, the Judeo-Christian Outreach Center has served the Hampton Roads community by providing a safe place to stay, a hot, wholesome meal, helping those in crisis battling drug or alcohol addiction as well as education to help our clients move forward with their lives. The homeless shelter is located at 1053 Virginia Beach Blvd in Virginia Beach with access to bus lines and shopping. We also are very fortunate to have many volunteer participants that help serve our daily meals and perform other services.

Since our beginning, the Judeo-Christian Outreach Center has served over half a million meals to those in need, helped those in need with a place to stay and assisted those searching for a new start by providing education, job placement assistance as well as help to overcome drug or alcohol addictions.

 

Shelter Thrift Closes

As you may have seen or heard, we have temporarily closed down our thrift stores. However, we will still accept your donations of used clothing or gently used household items/furniture at our offices during normal working hours.

A Message from our Executive Director

Wow...2012 has arrived with all its promise and challenges. The holidays were busy and festive here at JCOC and we have so many wonderful people to thank for their gifts of time, talent, financial support and presents for our residents and patrons of our Community Feeding Program. Now that we have taken down all the decorations, we are focused on the upgrades to the campus. Thanks to the Hampton Roads Community Foundation, Dominion Enterprises, the Virginia Beach Rotary Club and the Princess Anne Rotary Club at Towne Center, Phase I of our upgrades begins with moving our current male resident's to a beautiful new space right here on campus in February.

We have big dreams for more improvements here on campus and will keep you posted. I'm happy to report we have churches, synagogues and organizations signed up to feed for every night in 2012. Can you believe we serve over 70,000 free, hot meals a year? Please keep JCOC in mind and know that our need has never been greater. We continue to see record high numbers and do our best to serve the hungry and homeless with not just a hand out, but a hand up. Stay warm and safe and best wishes to you and your family for 2012.
