As reports of community closings and event postponements are changing minute by minute, it is important for you, our partners to know JCOC is working closely with local government, public health systems, and health care facilities to ensure our staff, volunteers and those we serve every day are not in unnecessary danger of contracting COVID-19 (coronavirus).

School and event closings will especially effect those living in low income households. Parents counting on school meals will have to find some way to feed their children, and those counting on income produced by a cancelled event will suffer.

Community Dinner, Food Pantry and Family Food Box programs continue to serve hungry families and individuals. Increased disinfecting protocol and preventative measures have been implemented for everyone and anyone entering the Dining Hall.

Attention Community Dinner/Breakfast Volunteer Groups… a separate email was sent to all group points of contact on Friday, March 13, 2020. If you are a point of contact for one of JCOC’s volunteer groups and didn’t receive the message, please email volunteer coordinator Krishna Loya at kloya@jcoc.org.

We will keep everyone informed of any program changes, etc. You can help feed the hungry in Virginia Beach today!
