Dear Friend,
Tuesday, June 2, 2020 was a historical moment for JCOC and those we have the privilege of serving every day. The Virginia Beach City Council unanimously approved our Campus Rebuild plan!
This incredible news means that after eight years of diligent preparations, we have the support of the City of Virginia Beach to build our multi-use building. This includes 38 affordable apartments for single adults, dining hall, kitchen, food pantry and office space. In addition, the number of parking spaces will increase.
Thank you for taking the time to call and email our Mayor and council members! You made a difference!
Your prayer and financial support in the coming months is critical as JCOC’s board of directors, leadership and staff take the next steps. These steps include launching a Capital Campaign, forming a timeline, and making a lot of contract and logistical decisions. All the while, our food and housing programs continue to help the hungry and homeless in Virginia Beach every day.
We will keep you, #TeamJCOC updated throughout this exciting project – from Capital Campaign to demolition, to ribbon-cutting!
Sincerely,
Todd Walker
Executive Director
Congrats on City approval!
Several years back, I was the project manager in charge of your West Lane residential facility. At that time, I was working with Ruth O’Lill and Kirk Welsh, who represented JCOC. I believe that they have since moved on. If you have not yet selected your general contractor, please keep Hoy Construction in mind. We are an 87 year old Norfolk based company that has a niche for multi-residential. We are 100% employee owned and take a team approach to construction.
Please feel free to check out our some of our recent projects on our website: http://www.hoyconstruction.com.
I hope to hear back.
Sincerely,
Will Crocker
