Monday-Friday: 5:00 PM (doors open); 5:30 PM (meal served)
Saturday-Sunday, and holidays: 2:00 PM (doors open); 2:30 PM (meal served)
Those who are homeless and/or struggling with food insecurity are welcome to come inside the dining hall to sit down and eat every day. Volunteer groups prepare and serve a free, nutritious meal in to-go containers with bottled beverages to seated guests. After everyone is served, guests are welcome to eat inside the dining hall, or leave and take their meal with them. An average of 85-100 people come each day.
An Annual Sign-Up Dinner is held each Fall. All participating organizations pick their dates for serving the meal for the following year. If your organization would like to help serve, please contact Community Engagement Manager, Krishna Loya at (757) 491-2846, ext. 102 or kloya@jcoc.org.
FOOD PANTRY AND FAMILY FOOD BOXES
JCOC’s Hunger Relief Programs prevent homelessness by helping hungry individuals and families with meals and groceries. This helps them be able to pay for other living expenses.

Free groceries (fresh produce, meat, dairy, and baked goods) are given to individuals and families in need living in South Hampton Roads and the Eastern Shore (Accomack, Chesapeake, Franklin, Isle of Wight, Norfolk, Northampton, Portsmouth, Southampton, Suffolk, Sussex, and Virginia Beach).
Family Food Boxes
Tuesday and Saturday
Virginia Beach residents with dependent children may receive a free food box every 30 days. Every year, over 1,000 boxes containing meat and nonperishable food items are given to households representing over 1,200 family members.
