JCOC, nonprofit organization serving Virginia Beach’s homeless population, is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant. Position work hours are Monday -Friday from 8am-5pm and reports directly to the Development Director.

Duties and tasks include but are not limited to: greet and direct visitors; oversee 4-line telephone system; create and modify documents using Microsoft Office; manage reception area and copy room; support community service and volunteer programs; make community referrals; order supplies; and perform general clerical duties including photocopying, faxing, mailing and filing. Position is also responsible for using Donor Perfect database to input donor and volunteer information, run reports and send acknowledgments. This position will assist with events, requiring work after hours on an occasional basis.

Successful candidate must have high school diploma or equivalent but college degree preferred. Must have extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office and relevant software applications. Person must have and implement excellent professional communication skills both verbally (phone, in person) and written as well as be able to type a minimum of 45 wpm. Experience working with non-profit organizations and/or the homeless population is a plus.

Compensation is commensurate with experience. Position includes medical, dental and vision benefits as well as paid vacation. Background check and drug screen are required.
