Our Rapid Rehousing Team has an exciting announcement to share. Watch this video for more! 

JCOC was recently awarded a grant to expand our Rapid Rehousing team and help 35 homeless clients find permanent housing over the next two months! This is in addition to the 40 clients the team already had planned to help find affordable housing and provide supportive services for by the end of 2020. 

Many of the men and women experiencing homelessness in Virginia Beach were given the opportunity to live in extended stay hotels when COVID-19 hit the area last March. The grant will allow our clients to move into a place of their own and not return to the streets. 

We need your help! Each time a new client moves into a permanent place, they receive a Welcome Home Basket. It includes basic household items such as bedding, plates, utensils, cookware, and cleaning supplies. Thirty-five more clients, means 35 more Welcome Home Baskets in two months. Thirty-five baskets are needed in the next two months; a total of 75 between now and December!

There are two ways you can help:

1. Visit our IKEA Gift Registry to purchase many of the items. You may also purchase items from local retail stores. Below is a complete list of needed items.

2. Connect our Housing Locators with potential landlords that may be interested in working with JCOC in leasing their rental property to our clients. Do you have rental property? Email jcoc@jcoc.org for more info.
